I’m amazed every day in this modern world of information just how little a lot of us seem to know about what’s going on around us in America.
I suppose it’s because we are all busy trying to make a living, enjoy our time with family and friends, and find ways to be healthy amidst the rush of life. That’s understandable. (I still believe there are only 3 exercise treadmills in any community … they just get swapped every couple of weeks at yard sales)
We all want to work towards a comfortable lifestyle, with ample time to reap the rewards of our efforts. The American dream is still something worthy of aspiration. But there’s a dangerous trend nowadays that seems to be unnoticed if not downright ignored among millions of people. There seems to be less and less interest in participating in the collective effort of community as a nation. And as a result of our disinterest and non-effort, the ruling classes in our country are destroying it and the very freedoms we enjoy as Americans, leaving us all with an enormous amount of debt to pay, both physically and spiritually.
The sad truth is that the ruling classes, we’ll call them politicians here, have exploited our non-interest into a marketable tool by which they position themselves to rape the goodwill of us all in their own pursuits of power and prestige, pocketing either individually or as groups the bulk of the fruits of our labors all across America. But just as any farm animal might do if the gates are left open, the politicians run right through our fences on their way to greener pastures for themselves, more often than not forgetting how they got where they are and who let them run through our fields and farms to get there. And yes, they rely on you and I to not pay attention to the details of what they are doing and where they are going. They just need us to leave our gates open for them to get to the other fields.
If you turn on your television to watch most news channels, you will receive a big helping of opinions and not much useable information. If you look online for news, you will be bombarded by insane ideas, peppered lightly with partial factual information to support the ideology you are being presented, and all at the approval of the platform you are visiting or it wouldn’t show up in the first place, true or not. And if you rely on gossip for your news, well, you’re probably going to be the last person in the loop to understand anything going on until you’ve already been duped and your life savings has disappeared.
And this is exactly how we are allowing ourselves to be used and abused. We just aren’t paying attention. Or are we?
For the last five years, we were told by just about all available news sources that Donald Trump was controlled by Russia, that his family was corrupt and using the presidency for personal profit, and that he was the most racist president you could have ever imagined. Television news, online news, radio, print, and yes, a lot of gossip, all spewed out twenty four hour a day headlines of just how awful this guy was and how much danger he was putting us in.
But the facts never lined up to any of that talk. Period. Over and over again, it was proven out that none of what was being accused or suggested ever happened. And all during the four years he was President, great things happened to free up American business and American individual liberties for every American, no matter your color or creed. Unemployment numbers hit record highs among all categories. Peace agreements that no other administration could seem to coordinate were solidified under Trump. Earnings were climbing for everyone, especially low income people, meaning all of us were enjoying the increased value of our dollars across the board. Our country was once again respected as a nation that believed in it’s people first, the foundation that has always allowed America to be healthy enough to help and protect other nations around the world that needed the strength of the United States to help them defend their freedoms as well.
And, by way, Donald Trump did not accept a paycheck for his service as President. That money was donated to good causes around the country for the entire four years he was in office. Unlike any other politician you can name, he lost money while in office.
These are all facts. Funny thing is, for all those people who fell victim to believing any of the nonsense told about him could easily have found the facts all along. They weren’t hidden at all. It’s public record. But they were covered up. By media. By all the same sources who were spewing actual misinformation to all of us the whole time. Every investigation into Donald Trump has ended the same. He did nothing wrong. And in fact, the investigations themselves show ample evidence that each and every accusation was entirely fabricated by political opponents, as evidenced in real time recently by the indictments of individuals directly involved in the very things they were accusing Donald Trump of doing. These are also facts, but they won’t show up in most media outlets. And this, my friend, tells you all you need to know about what is going on around you in our country.
Donald Trump was closing gates for all of us, not allowing the politicians to use our property as barter to trade for their own corrupt pursuits. And anyone with a lick of common sense knew it, and could see how utterly dishonest and wicked the rest of the political class was and is in America. The saddest part of it all is perhaps the way in which millions of Americans were caught up in the fervor of being ‘anti-Trump’. And are now left in a position of standing on an illegitimate foundation of untruth and actual corruption as they must choose whether to accept reality and move away from the falsehoods or stay in the muck and be associated with the corrupt politicians and media outlets who led them there. To this day, the Mika Brezenskis, Joe Scarboroughs, Joy Reids and Don Lemons of America are still spewing out nonsense about Donald Trump twenty four hours a day, all the while being proven wrong on a daily basis. It’s almost as if none of them knows what’s actually going on in the real world. But what’s actually going on is encouraging.
During the entire time Donald Trump was being accused, investigated and tried for all the things he was being accused of, Fox News and a few others questioned the legitimacy of the claims. They actually looked for evidence of the allegations’ legitimacies, but couldn’t find any. They daily allowed opposing political viewpoints on their airwaves to explore the issues openly. And they rightfully pointed out and condemned the CNNs, social media platforms and network news outlets that were reporting wild accusations about the President and his family as though it were proven fact. Think what you will when you hear the term ‘Fox News’. They told us the truth, good or bad, about Donald Trump, but they did not participate in the biased skewering of him for sport.
The results? Fox News is watched more than CNN and MSNBC combined. Greg Gutfeld’s late night Fox News show is more popular than Jimmy Kimmel’s tonight show or any other late night show. More and more people are ignoring social media as a reliable source of fact, relegating it to it’s proper place of entertainment. And as evidenced by recent election results in the state of Virginia, common sensed Americans seem to be rising in numbers to voice their displeasure in the overreach of government into our lives. As bad as times may seem, common sense may be making it’s way back into the forefront of American society.
Politics can be quite emotional. And confrontational. But without knowledge of facts, it can be dangerous, and is. The mainstream media outlets will never acknowledge when they are wrong and have been involved in false news. They just won’t step up that high, as their domain seems to be feeding along the bottom. Just as with low dwelling water creatures, they know if they come to the surface, they are liable to get caught. And thankfully, more and more Americans seem to be catching them regularly and throwing them out. The ratings are showing it. And well it should be, as we all deserve truth when it comes to our country and it’s operations.
I for one am proud that more and more people are discussing politics, as difficult as it might be, because the truth always surfaces eventually, and it appears that more of us all the time are moving toward it and away from the nonsense.
Our land still belongs to We the People. And We the People are taking it back.
We were born in the dark. But it wasn’t last night.
